A member asked:

After a cervical ablationif, there is no period, what happens to the ovum (egg) in your tubes? how does it get expelled?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Reabsorbed: I believe you mean an endometrial ablation. However the egg is 100 micrometers in size. The point is it is microscopic and your body will absorb it if it doesn't make it down the tubes. Your period has to do with the progesterone made from ovulation. The egg itself has nothing to do with your actual period.
