A member asked:

Should a tsh of 6.03 (normal .45-4.50) in a 25 year old male be treated?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: Usually we do not treat this until above 10 but a T4 should be added to fully evaluate this.It should be rechecked in the next few months. However, labs test by themselves in most circumstances do not mean anything but analysis in the clinical circumstances of why it was done.It may be a false positive so that is why recheck.
