Return visit to MD: You need to return to the MD for evaluation of the abnormal pap smear cells. Depending upon their severity, a colposcopy (microscope on wheels) may be performed to look at the cervix and take a sample (biopsy) if needed.

Repeat testing: It depends on how abnormal the cells were. You should see a gynecologist to ascertain if there are any lesions that may need to be treated. Many minor abnormalities resolve with time, but do follow your doctor's advice about repeat testing. Get HPV vaccine.
