A member asked:

Any risks in using magnesium citrate long term? i heard it draws water into the large intestines and can lower cerruloplasmin. using for constipation.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: You should not use it long term.long-lasting should avoid magnesium citrate regularly because the body can become dependent on it, making it difficult for a person to pass stools without using laxatives.Miralax is better but may take a few days to work.If having constipation see you doctor, may need to address why happening and need dietary changes with more liquids and fiber.
