Some basics: Bright red blood is going to come from a fissure/scratch in the anus & is usually on the outside of poop. A kid with bulky or rapid stooling can create a fissure/crack. Bleeding from the intestines is darker & mixed with poop & can be an infection. Bleeding from the stomach or high small intestine will be coffee grounds or black. A pediatrician or pedi GI can sort it out.
