A member asked:

What does a decreased rectal and squeeze pressure mean in regards to an arm study? dx with slow transit constipation.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Decreased muscle ton: This study suggests to me that you would have unsatisfactory passage of stool due to decreased muscle tone in the anorectal muscles. Perhaps working from below using glycerin or dulcolax rectal suppositories and or fleets enemas would help evacuation. In addition pelvic floor exercises may be worthwhile. I expect that a proctologist could advise you best.
