Progresses slowly: Trachoma is the leading preventable cause of blindness across the world which is caused by the bacterium Chlamydia trachomatis. Young children are particularly susceptible to trachoma. However the disease progresses slowly & the more painful symptoms may not emerge until adulthood. Proper hygiene & early diagnosis & treatment are essential. I wish you well with your health!
