Non-specific : This could easily represent a simple reaction to a new food they did not tolerate or early evidence of a virus moving through her system. The events within the hour or 2 before first episode & symptoms over the next day should clarify the issue. Hard stools are common with rice cereals/bananas.

Treat symptoms first: You may offer comfort care with rest, fluids and medication for now and monitor his progress, depending on what type of surgery was performed, it is difficult to accurately guide you perfectly on how to move forward. Contact the surgeon if your son is not improving over the next few days. Sooner if he is not resoonding to your "comfort care.".

False hematochezia: Certain foods can color your stool red and can mimic hematochezia (bright red blood in the stool):red gelatin or jello, popsicles, or kool-aid, tomato juice or soup, and large amounts beets. If the red stool persists after avoiding the culprit food item for a few days, it is wise to report this to your doctor for further work-up.

Tylenol (acetaminophen) : Fever during pregnancy is of concern. It is very important to see your dr. Depending on the cause of the fever it could have implications on the fetus. It is very important to get look at. And find the source of the fever to get appropriately treated.
