A member asked:

I don't have a spleen and i need 3 vaccinations- pnuemomia, bronchitis and i've forgotten the other one. is there anyway you would know?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Recommendations vary: There are many vaccines that can be considered useful in adults who either had a spleen removed or never had one. These include the 2 different pneumococcal vaccines, a yearly flu shot, the meningitis vaccines, the common childhood vaccines for HIB, TdaP, MMR and others. This is something you need to go over with your doc to see which need updating .
