A member asked:

My daughter's had a fever all night (broken with medication), complaining about pain in her head, throat and stomach. is it a normal flu?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Dr. can check throat: Such head, throat, and tummy symptoms can be from cold viruses, strep throat, the flu, allergies, etc..., except that allergies usually don't cause a fever. Doctors have rapid tests for strep and influenza, so a primary care doctor can diagnose strep or the flu and start medication if needed. It's hard to guess a cause without swab tests or an exam.
