Conception ? : If your periods are "regular" (24-34 days apart), and pregnancy is attempted for six months "w/o protection" , ask your gyn physician about a hysterosalpingogram (HSG) once sure that your partner has viable sperm (urologist consult). An HSG is a brief x-ray type procedure which forces sterile fluid through the tubes. Blocked tubes are the leading cause of infertility.

Infertility Reasons: Only pregnancy "proves" fertility. At age 22 with no health problems, many doctors recommend at least 1 year of attempts at conception with 2-3 attempts per week. If more than 12 to 18 months have passed, then a medical evaluation is needed of both partners as there are many, many reasons for infertility. About 50% of causes are female, 30% male and in 20% there are factors that affect both.
