Left side: Middle and Lower left sided abdominal discomfort can occur with diverticulitis, inflammatory bowel disease or irritable bowel syndrome. Upper left sided discomfort can occur with gas entrapment. If symptoms persist and especially if there's associated tenderness, get examined by a physician.
