HSV 2 Testing: Generally HSV 2 is diagnosed either directly, by culturing an active lesion, or indirectly, by looking for the antibodies made when you’ve been exposed to the HSV 2 virus. The indirect method is very accurate and the only one that can be done in an asymptotic person.
