A member asked:

Had hsg last week. now have swollen vulva and crampy. could this mean infection? im calling doc in am

A doctor has provided 1 answer

HSG ?: Since an HSG (hysterosalpingogram) is done to determine open tubes, performing such without pre-test antibiotics can spread tubal infection into the abdomen, causing cramps and peritonitis. See your gyn for an appointment and treatment to be certain.
