What does an isolated out of range test result mean?

It means that: one single test is out of the normally accepted range. If not a severe variation, the single test should be repeated in 3-4 week.

Some basics: Testing generally reports out a range of values considered normal for 95% of those tested. A 5% group or 1/20 would still be normal but out of that range. If you get several tests, there is that 1/20 chance that any one will be out of range. The more tests run the more chance at least one will be. When reported as isolated it refers to a good chance it has less significance.

How much?: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, it would have helped had you provided the actual test results.
