Yes, if after: 10 weeks or so. Initially it rises from the start of implantation of the embryo, every 40 hrs doubling. It peaks at 10 or 11 weeks. Dropping from this peak level to around 10 - 20 thousand the remainder of the pregnancy. However dropping prior to 11 weeks can be worrisome.
