Maybe: Serial HCG levels are done sometimes to establish pregnancy. If pregnant, the levels will rise in a predictable way. If levels drop consistently that can indicate a failed pregnancy. However, a single dip in levels followed by rising levels may just be a lab error with the one low result. Your doctor can confirm pregnancy with an ultrasound if needed.
