What could cause a burning sensation around eye, down inside to tip of nose on just one side? anxiety?

Anxiety: I wouldn't attribute this symptom to anxiety but would suspect a primary irritant or even an allergic reaction especially if there's eventual itching, sneezing or tearing of the eye. You could take an antihistamine if this symptom persists.
