Antihistamine: The swelling is likely the standard arthus reaction of the body. This response triggers local capillaries to leak serum to the surrounding area to provide a barrier to any injected venom slowing its access to the body. Antihistamines like diphenhydramine can slow the leak, but once there the swelling will take days to go down. Cool compresses can help with itching/discomfort.
