Yes: They will most likely try to accommodate you and do local or epidural if possible.

Depends on surgeon: Some hysteroscopy procedures can be done in a GYN MD's office without general anesthesia. However, one patients' pain tolerance is often very different than another. Moreover, if your surgeon anticipates a more extensive procedure due to unforeseen circumstances the lack of sedation can compromise his/her choices. Talk to your surgeon for a better definition of your concerns and his/hers.
