It can: Any illness/infection that produces prolonged diarrhea or debilitation can induce pregnancy loss. However, your GYN MD needs to test you (TORCH titer) for other chronic illnesses that can cause repeated miscarriage as well. Cervical competence issues should also be addressed. Good luck!

Other possibilities: It may be worthwhile for you to consult with a genetic counselor. These can be found affiliated with medical schools or children's hospitals. Sometimes so many MC's can signal an unusual chromosome issue where your risk of further MC's can approach 100%. Miscarriage: Miscarriages at "5-6 weeks" is very unusual, and should be investigated. A malformed uterus or internal fibroids, adhesions or polyps can interrupt a pregnancy early, with miscarriage the result. Ask your gyn physician about a hysterosalpingogram (HSG) which can detail uterine abnormalities. Cervical incompetence is generally not a cause of miscarriage at 5-6 weeks.
