Yes.: Fever, along with redness, swelling and feeling of warmth to the touch, in the setting of a penetrating wound, could indicate infection. Should also monitor for pus-like drainage. This wound should be further evaluated by a medical provider, who can prescribe antibiotics if deemed appropriate.
