Any time: Having wisdom tooth surgery (or any other dental procedures) does not require your to stop throat clearing or coughing up sputum (phlegm). However, it may not be from post nasal drip; more likely it's originating in the bronchial tubes. See your doctor about the cause and possible treatment.
