I woke up saturday morning with bites on my neck. its now monday & one of the bites looks like a hickey & is a dark red. any ideas on what it is?

Not really: The only way to be sure of what produces a bite is to see the bug in the process. They don't sign their work ! The bodies reaction to bites itself will overlap with several differing bugs triggering the same response. Sometimes a pattern location like a belt line will be suggestive, but not always.
