Numb glute after an injection. a week later it's still numb an painful to the touch. should i be worried? not swollen/red.

It's probably ok: It's quite reassuring that it is not swollen and/or red...one of the most worrisome things would be infection that redness and swelling could indicate. The pain should be improving; numbness the last to improve. If it is still painful at the 2 week mark, I would contact your treating provider to discuss and possibly be re-evaluated. Good wishes:)

Nerve damage : The nerve many be damaged by injection needle or numb from bleeding/swelling (pressure) at injection site. If so, it should recover slowly over days to weeks. Massage may hasten nerve regrowth in case of needle injury. The nature of the drug injected will also affect recovery.
