Unclear questions: Make sure that the child is well hydrated. You may give him water or an electrolyte solution like pedialyte of a combination of these. He should be drinking enough fluids so that his urine is mostly colorless. If his fever does not abate in a day or so after starting treatment, get in touch with his doctor.
