Paragard IUD: While the Paragard can be associated with making your period slightly heavier, you shouldn't be bleeding heavily just from the placement itself. The insertion can sometimes disrupt the endometrium (uterus lining) and cause a bit of spotting but that does not sound like what your are describing. You should discuss this with your provider.
