Yes, your doctor can prescribe something to take the pain away, so please call and explain that you are having pain and cramping. You may want to trial Ibuprofen (advil) instead of aspiring if you can take advil, (ibuprofen) as it may work better for the cramps. If you can't feel thet string then you need to have the gynecologist check it to be sure it is in proper position. If you had much worse pain, vomiting, fever, or light-headedness then you would need to be seen as an emergency.
