A member asked:

Can a lab go back to your sample and determine what muscle was injured after your results say your creatine kinase was very high?

Not possible: There's no way to do that. The only way to know is by symptoms (muscle tenderness etc) and/or the specific muscles that were stressed during the activity that caused the problem.

No: Creatinine kinase is a non specific indicator somewhat like fever is to an infection. Fever levels go up when there is infection & creatinine kinase goes up for muscle cell breakdown. Other symptoms /findings must be used to find out where/why the elevation occurs.
