Good day, i tested positive for chlamydia @ 37... the doctor prescribed cefixime 400mg as treatment. is this an appropriate treatment for chlamydia?

I wouldn't use it: Of the medications available azythromycin is considered 1st choice followed by doxycycline. Erythromycin is considered 3rd & amoxicillin a distant 4th due to poor performance. I don't see Cefixine or other members of that family of drugs recommended for chlamydia in my references.
