Cough up blood: Interesting symptom. The best way to answer this question is an in-person examination. I have lots of other questions: is a post nasal drip, are there other symptoms, how is your general health. If you cough up more than 2 cups of both a day, that would be pretty serious and needs an emergency room visit.
