Hard to say: Babies use their fussing as the one communication tool. A baby that is feeding well & growing is likely in a stable state of health. Parents must learn to "interpret" their babies cry over time with its nuanced forms as need for food, pain, their lonesomeness, etc. Brazelton's studies show infants peak at random fussing around 6 wks & begin to subside around 3-4 mo when they start to turn over.
