A member asked:

Hi. when my daughter cries there seems to be a bump on the left side of her vagina that stands out. only when she cries. i have touched and pressed it but she doesn't seem to feel pain as there is no reaction. she is 2 years old. should i be worried?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Worrisome: Crying generates an increase in abdominal pressure and would tend to push fluid or a hernia out. This could mean she has a hernia in that area that will need attention(surgery) at some point. It is not a reason to go in immediately but I would bring it up the next time you go to her doc for any reason.
