More or less: Breast milk alone is adequate nutrition for an infants first year. Some add a vitamin for additional assurance. Solids are unnecessary, but a worthy addition to begin the skills needed to transition the kid to table foods. It is reasonable to delay solids until the kid can sit up with good posture & approach or withdraw from offered foods. This is six to seven months in most.

4 to 6 moths: Currently guideline recommends adding table food to the baby's diet between 4 to 6 months of age. At least in the case of peanut and egg, delaying introduction beyond 6 months is associated with a higher risk of becoming allergic to these items. The evidence is less clear about other foods but there is no evidence to suggest that they would do any harm when introduced during that window.
