Some basics: Return of thread worms (pinworms) means either the treatment did not kill all the original worms or you acquired them again. Since it is an only human parasite, you can only get it by ingesting the eggs. Exposure to contaminated linen usually from toddlers is classic. If the diagnosis was based just on an anal itch, you may never have had them to begin with.
