Symptoms to monitor : none of the symptoms you described so far are red flags. I would be concerned if he passed out initially when he hit his head, if he was acting funny, headache was worsening or if he vomited after the injury. The fever could just be a coincidence since that doesn’t go with head injury generally. I recommend bringing him in if he has or develops any of the above symptoms

Some basics: Any head trauma can trigger up to a migraine equivalent headache within & up to a week after the event. By itself, it does not suggest anything bad. A kid who is not knocked out, had memory loss or change in personality after the event does not show signs of concussion or significant injury. Fever is never a part of simple head trauma. If he has it there may be an unrelated illness emerging.
