Maybe: It depends on the type of calcification and other features of the nodule. The ACR has developed a scoring system(TI-RADS) for thyroid nodules ranking them and recommending management based on various features, including calcification. In general, calcification makes a nodule more suspicious. However, depending on the type of calcification and other features, it may not mean biopsy. See your doc
