A member asked:

I keep getting sharp pains in my heart ever since i was a teen and im 35 now. is this normal?

Heart ?: The only thing in your heart that would sense pain is the blood vessels & that does not trigger sharp pains starting with your teens. The likely origin is located just behind the heart where the swallow tube enters the stomach. Here a backwash of stomach acid often triggers "heartburn" caused by the injury to local tissue. Caffeine.nicotine & many foods aggravate this. Antacids help reduce it.
