Ive had a sore throat for 2 days now, it seems the same level of intensity. should i get tested for strep? or do you have to have a fever with strep?

No you don't : have to have fever with strep throat, you may want to get tested, however many sore throats are viral, try the salt water gargles and painkillers, unless contraindicated, for one or two days, if no improvement see your doctor for assessment, wish you well
