Hematoma: If the bump was surrounded by black and blue bruising type discoloration, it most likely is a hematoma (blood clot) from bleeding under the skin. This may gradually decrease,dissolve and disappear. Occasionally hematomas harden and don't disappear. If they become,hard and tender,they can be removed with a small incision.
