Some basics: Of the 150 or so species of scorpions in South Africa only one is considered poisonous. Anyone can be allergic to a scorpion sting, as they would to bees or other insects & have a bad reaction, which would have already happened in the 1st hour. You might consider contacting a local poison control center which could help you identify the species & relevant toxicity.
