May need specialist: Painful/stiff neck in your age group may be related to spinal (C-spine) arthritis. So you may need to see a specialist such as a Neurosurgeon who will likely check you c-spine with X-rays to check for arthritis which can impinge on the spinal nerves leading to pain in the neck and muscle spasms. Try taking Tylenol(Paracetamol) and see if it might control your pain.
