40yrs 1 mnth, 19 feb - 1st day of my cycle i am extremely emotional. i admit i am a bit stressed but i've never felt like i do. should i worry?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Emotional period ?: At mid-30's onward, there is more stimulation of the ovary from the pituitary required to cause ovulation, which allows more estrogen production and more menstrual bleeding, and symptoms which include emotional reactions when estrogen drops, just prior to the onset of menstrual bleeding. Ask your gyn physician about low dose oral contraceptives, which turn off the ovaries.
