Could be many things: It is not normal. Causes can range from depression, nutritional deficiency, chronic viral illness, thyroid problems, sleep apnea.. Start with a full medical exam and labs, including thyroid, vit d, mono test-- and further workup as directed. Minor fatigue often responds to excercise, regular sleep, and eating well-- but 'severe' and daily fatigue suggests illness of some sort.

Mid-way between...: In general, people become "sleepy" and "sluggish" at the mid-point (i.e., 3 pm) between the time they get up in the morning (e.g., 7 am) and the time they go to bed at night (e.g., 11 pm). Severe fatigue and drowsiness, however, suggest that you should make sure that you are making healthy lifestyle choices re food, exercise, and attitude. Naps shorter than 90 minutes can leave you feeling bad.
