Several possibilits: Your pcp can often start the process. Many pediatricians, neurologists, or developmental pediatricians work with this group of patients. Some complex cases will require the coordinated effort of several specialties, including psychiatry, psychology & and behavioral therapists.

Psychol, Psychiatrst: The best way to go about diagnosing this often over diagnosed syndrome is to go to the experts - a child psychologist and a child psychiatrist. Though a pediatrician is a good place to start, it should not be the endpoint. The psychiatrist will be able to determine if medication is needed and the psychologist is able to determine if more specific treatment is needed.
