A member asked:

I take my bcp at 8am could i change it an hour earlier to 7am? will it still be effective?

Timing for oral bcp: One can always take the active pill an hour earlier, and effectiveness is not diminished. It is better with low dose oral bcp's to take them at a convenient hour in the evening, as the low dose may "run out" by morning, producing interference with sleep via dreams promoted by estrogen withdrawal, which will frequently create an early morning "wakeup" .
