: Home tests may not be accurate very early in pregnancy, so if your period has not started in the next 7-10 days, obtain a serum HCG test which is very accurate. Oral bcp's are not thought to be harmful to a pregnancy, as the hormones in the oral bcp's are very similar to those in a normal pregnancy.
