Get evaluated: A chronic cough like this needs to be evaluated with Chest xray to start with,evaluated for acid reflux,medications such as lisnopril,sinusitis,CT scan,possibly echo/lab,pulmonary consult,etc depending on the circumstances.

Evaluation: A cough for such a prolonged period warrants an evaluation by a physician or pulmonologist. Appropriate testing will be done and may include a chest xray and/or a chest ct scan in order to make a diagnosis and prescribe proper treatment.

Agree with Dr. C: Any cough lasting longer than 2 weeks ought to be evaluated by a doctor. If is especially important if you have lost weight.

12 mo cough: Consider postnasal drip/ rhinitis/allergies/reflux / asthma these are conditions that could cause a chronic cough and aren't infectious/tumors ( where you would get usually progressively ill-rarely not ill with mycoplasma ) You may need daily antihistamines/steroid nasal spray/anti-gastric medication like prevecid or asthma treatment including inhalers. Go to doctor or urgent care this
