A member asked:

What checks are done at a newborn's 6 week visit? can these checks be done by a midwife or a paedritrician?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Hard to speculate: In the USA (where most of us are based), midwives have nothing to do with infants after birth, ever. Family physicians, pediatricians, certified nurse practitioners & physicians assistants all may perform the evaluation. It includes verification of growth parameters, an exam, discussion of activities/feeding and immunizations. Your country may have some differences.
