Hard to speculate: The excess moisture itself has no particular bad qualities as our lungs work with 100% humidity internally. If it is invaded by mold it could cast off mold spores to which some are allergic. There are some rare molds that can be toxic, but identifying them requires specialty evaluation. I would suggest you clean & dry the carpet or remove it.
